Community Centre & Sports Park
A key priority for this term of Council is completion of the long-awaiting community centre and sports complex at Park 459. This 55-acre parcel of City-owned land is situated in the Ninth Line corridor opposite Tacc Drive at its northern point and opposite Burdette Terrace toward the southern part. This work was completed in the summer of 2021 with the Grand Opening on October 9, 2021.
For the next term of Council, I will push for funding and construction of Phase 2 of the Sports Park, including a regulation-sized, lit cricket pitch, another multi-use field, indoor tennis and the completion of the paved trail. On the southend, a leash-free zone is planned with two separate areas: one for small dogs and one for larger dogs.
I will be posting Community Centre updates to this page as new developments occur.
Key Dates
The rough timeline for building Phase 2 of the Sports Park is:
2022 – Concept Design
2023 – Detailed Design
2024 – Construction
2025 – Open for use
Visit the City of Mississauga’s web page on Park 459 for more information.
