Progress continues to be made on the design of the Churchill Meadows Community Centre at 5320 Ninth Line and we are still on track to begin construction later this year. In the past few weeks, documents submitted as part of the Site Plan Application have been circulated to various departments and agencies for their review and comments. The Commissioning agent has been procured and about a quarter of the working drawings are complete. In the next month, pre-screening and committee reviews will take place for Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) and Facility Design Subcommittee (FADS).
Just from this short update, it is apparent how much work and detail goes into building a beautiful, efficient, practical and, undoubtedly, award-winning facility for the public to enjoy for decades to come. I’m getting excited for each step closer to construction and the grand opening in 2019.
