I was thrilled to have the opportunity to tour our brand new community centre at 5320 Ninth Line and see the progress on construction. Even on a rainy day, this facility is beautiful! It’s really starting to take shape, with significant work taking place on the outdoor amenities since I last visited in July. The skate park and basketball court will be very popular with our older children, teens and young adults while the splash pad and unique, natural-look playground will attract younger children for hours of active playtime. The turf fields are in and really give a sense of the grand scope of the sports park and what will all be available to the public at this spectacular facility. It really will be a destination recreational amenity on the western edge of our city. Below are some photos from my recent visit in late October.
