I am thrilled to announce that the City has taken some significant steps toward bringing a tournament-grade indoor tennis facility to Ward 10. This month, Council gave the City authority to enter into a partnership with the Premier Racquet Club to build and operate an indoor tennis facility at Churchill Meadows Sports Park at 5320 Ninth Line. The facility will serve the needs of recreational and competitive players in the community, while providing opportunities to host provincial, national and international sporting events in Mississauga.  Premier Racquet Club will fund part of the cost of the facility while also operating the covered courts year-round. The new facility will offer a variety of affordable, competitive and recreational programs, including tennis and pickleball, which will serve tennis enthusiasts and attract new players from all social and economic backgrounds. I have been working with staff in Community Services and Recreation for the better part of three years to include tennis amenities in the Phase 2 development of the Churchill Meadows Sports Park and am excited about this landmark development for our community.
