Almost a year ago to the day, I announced City staff’s plan to construct bike lanes on Erin Centre Boulevard in order to connect the two sections of the Erin Centre trail that runs from Ninth Line to the Winston Churchill transitway station. The project was one of quite a few that was delayed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is a priority for completion in 2022. Work to complete the connection is expected to take place in May.

There will be 2-metre wide bike lanes with protective bollards on each side of Erin Centre Boulevard between Tenth Line and Oscar Peterson Boulevard, a driving lane in each direction and a centre turn lane. Lane reductions will be in place periodically during construction causing temporary delays. If you can avoid the area during May, please do so. Thank you for your patience during the construction of this important active transportation infrastructure.
