The Meadowvale West Tennis Club is preparing for its big move from Hunter’s Glen in Meadowvale to Churchill Meadows Community Common here in Ward 10. This transition has been years in the making and is scheduled to officially take place on July 6, 2020.]
These courts have seen significant upgrades over the last few seasons including additional courts, new lights for evening play, and re-surfacing. A gazebo with benches and shade has also been constructed in connection with the MWT Club’s move. Many of these upgrades have been funded solely or in part by the club.
What will this change mean for local tennis? The courts will be operated and maintained by the club. The club will manage court time, offer lessons and run leagues. For a nominal annual fee, members of the club can book time to play, participate in age and skill appropriate leagues and introduce friends and family members to the wonderful game of tennis.
Free, open play public courts are available nearby at Lisgar Fields, Settler’s Green and Glen Eden.
