Biography
Sue McFadden is the City and Regional Councillor for Mississauga’s Ward 10, a largely residential ward in the north westerly part of the city. She was first elected as Councillor in 2006 and is now in her fifth term. Prior to that, she served as Trustee for the Peel District School Board for six years.
Throughout her time as an elected official, Councillor McFadden has held positions of leadership on various committees such as the Peel Police Services Board, Safe City Mississauga, Traffic Safety Council, Emergency Services and more. Her commitment to safety has been recognized by her colleagues and appreciated by her constituents.
Councillor McFadden’s track record has garnered her a reputation as a “Woman of Integrity” who delivers results based on community consultation and input.
She continues to be actively involved in the community. She is past president of the Mississauga-Meadowvale Rotary Club where she is also a Paul Harris Award winner. She is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal and Platinum Jubilee Medal for her dedication to community service.
Councillor McFadden is a life-long learner, graduating from Sheridan College in Marketing, and Ryerson University (now TMU) in Training & Development. She has earned her diploma in the Municipal Administration Program and achieved the Certified Municipal Officer designation.
Prior to her public service, Councillor McFadden worked for Bell Canada for 17 years at the senior management level.
Councillor McFadden has lived in Mississauga for close to 50 years. She and her husband Dave enjoy spending time with their family, especially their nine wonderful grandchildren.
